CLASSES
Beginner Quilting: $50 (Plus Fabric) Diane August 7th, 14th, & 28th 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. (7 ½ hours) Learn the basics of quilting. You will learn to measure and cut using a rotary cutter, acrylic ruler and cutting mat. Determine a pattern and size and to use the sewing machine to start quilting. You will make a small throw or baby size quilt top while learning to piece blocks and add borders. September 18th & 19th 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (14 hours) Come and spend the weekend sewing and trying to figure out the mystery in the blocks you make. This will be a great two days of gathering clues and making friends while you create a beautiful quilt top. The price includes the pattern and instructions, lunch, beverages and snacks for both days. Memory Quilt $50 (Plus Fabric & Supplies) July 16th & 22nd 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. (6 hours) Cindy Do you want to put your favorite photographs in a quilt that you or someone special can cherish forever? Cindy can show you how to use photographs in your quilts and make those special memories and photos into something truly special. Bring those photos in and join Cindy for this memorable class! Basic Hand Applique: $30 (Plus Supplies) Barbara July 15th , August 19th , September 20th Would you like to learn appliqué? Barbara will teach a class on basic hand appliqué that you are sure to enjoy while learning the basic techniques of this art. This is one you don’t have to haul you machine in for! Join her to make a beautiful appliqué flower and learn the skills to make any appliqué block you desire. I may even sign up for this one myself, Barbara does beautiful appliqué and I need to learn! Attend one class or all of them. Star Log Cabin Quilt $50 (Plus Fabric & Book) September 21st & 28th 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (4 hours) Cindy This is beautiful quilt and easy to put together, you will enjoy the techniques and get an entire book of patterns that we will do classes on later in the year. Cindy will help you put your quilt together and we can help you pick fabrics to make the stars pop! You can make it scrappy with your stash or buy coordinating fabrics for a special look. Stain Glass Wall Hanging $40 (Plus Fabric, Supplies & Pattern) August 18th & 25th 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (4 hours) Cindy Make a beautiful stain glass wall hanging with Cindy. When you are done this class you will be able to do any stain glass design and make beautiful quilts and wall hangings featuring stain glass designs. Young Peoples Tote Bag – Ages 10 to 16 $30 (Plus Materials & Book) July 28th & August 17th 10:00 to 1:00 p.m. (3 hours) Jane In one three hour class you will make a really cute draw string bag that’s great for taking to a friends for a sleepover, to dance class or to the pool. This is going to be a fun class and a great project! There will be more classes from this book in the future. Quilting for Young People – Ages 10 to 16 $75 (Includes Fabrics & Patterns) July 26th, 27th, August 2nd, 3rd, 9th, & 10th 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (12 hours) September 1st. 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, & October 6th This class is designed for young quilters! This class is six sessions and when they are done they will have a completed quilt. Jane is skilled at teaching young people to quilt and has planned a wonderful quilt for them for this class. All of the fabrics and patterns are provided the participants just need to bring their sewing machines to class and Jane will teach them to make beautiful quilts and a skill that will grow with them. The second session of six classes is great for home schooled kids. Mom & Me Pillow Covers – Ages 10 to 16 and their Moms $20 (Plus Fabrics & 14” Pillow Forms) Jane Wednesday, July 14th 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon (2 hours) This class is designed for young quilters and their Moms! When you are done you will have made a 14” Envelope Pillow. Jane is skilled at teaching young people to quilt and has planned a wonderful quilting project for them for this class. Sign up to enjoy a class with your daughter or son and make a pillow and have a great time! Machine Stitched Cathedral Windows $40 (Plus Fabrics) Barbara August 9th & 24th 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (6 hours) Cathedral Windows is a beautiful pattern that can be done by machine and Barbara will teach you how! Come and join her for these two sessions and learn how to make this beautiful quilt. Qu This is a really neat carry bag designed to carry your quilts to shows, guild meetings, or your works in progress for the long car ride. It is easy to make with a jelly roll of fabrics and Joanne will teach you how quick you can put this together in one two hour class. Miranda Bag $30 (Plus Fabrics & Pattern) Joanne August 12th 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (3 hours) September 13th 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. (3 hours) This is a beautiful carry bag you can use as a purse or a carry bag for your small projects. See the one on display in the shop and join Joanne for one of these classes to learn how to make this in your favorite fabrics. This is a creative way to remember the teams you played for, the places you’ve been or just do something with all the “been there, done that” t-shirts you’ve collected. I guarantee you will love this quilt when you are done! I never thought a pile of old T-Shirts could make something soft and beautiful but I was wrong! Put your ugliest t-shirt in a quilt and see what you think! Paper Piecing $25/class (Plus Materials, Patterns Include) Joanne September 24, 2010 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Would you like to learn the art of paper piecing? Joanne can teach you! You will get a different pattern every time and Joanne will demonstrate how it is done. You can attend one session or all of them. Come and join her and be making beautiful paper pieced quilts in no time! Easy Crazy Quilt FREE! It’s simple, it’s fun and it’s your imagination! Join me for 2 hours to learn a really simple technique to use up your scraps or have fun with coordinating fabrics. This is great for a kids quilt or for anyone on your gift list. Baltimore Album Quilt $120 (Plus Materials & Book) Barbara September 16th 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., October 21st 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., This is a series of 12 classes and with each class you get another pattern and instruction. The quilt is all appliqué and large, beautiful blocks. The patterns come from the book and after completing the 12 classes you will have 12 beautiful blocks to make your Baltimore Album Quilt. You will meet once a month, you choose day or evening, and Barbara gives wonderful instructions and techniques. You can use up fabrics from your stash for this one and have a beautiful quilt to treasure. This will be one of those quilts your great, great grandchildren will be pulling out of the treasure chest to show their children! Come in and join us for a little hand appliqué and a lot of fun. Roman Stripes Quilt $40 (Plus Fabrics & Book) Joanne July 20th 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (2 hours) August 16th 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. (2 hours) This is another strip pieced quilt that goes together quickly and easily and Joanne will show you how in just one 2 hour class. You can use fabrics from your stash and make it scrappy or buy coordinating fabrics for a more patterned look. Pinwheel Table Runner and Placemats $30 (Plus Fabrics, Pattern is Included) Jane August 18th 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (3 hours) August 26th 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. (3 hours) September 29th 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (3 hours) These placemats and table runner will make you table beautiful in any fabrics. They are much easier than they appear and Jane will show you the tricks to piece them together easily. Make a set for every season or holiday! Bargello Placemats $25 (Plus Fabrics & Pattern) Joanne August 10th 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (2 hours) September 9th 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (2 hours) No more stressing over Bargello! Joanne will teach you how to make beautiful bargello placemats – once you learn how it’s done you can make the king size quilt you always dreamed of! Illusions In Neutrals $50 (Plus Fabrics, Pattern is Included) Cindy September 14th 10:00 to 2:00 p.m (4 hours) In neutral fabrics from light to dark shades make an intriguing, barely there diamond pattern over the entire quilt top. The pieced blocks are as easy as making triangle squares which makes this an easy project for a beginner or experienced quilter. This quilt is easy yet it looks dramatic and elegant.
Class space is limited and is first come–first serve Class Policies Please read and understand these policies before registering for a class. 1. Class fees must be paid when you register for the class. You can register in person, by phone or by e-mail. 2. A refund by store credit only will be given if you cancel one week prior to class. No refund is given if you cancel less than one week before class. 3. A full refund will be given if Olde Towne Stitchery cancels the class for any reason. You may transfer the refund to another class. 4. Classes are reserved on a first-come,– first-served basis. 5. Children and guest cannot accompany you to class without registering and paying the class fee. Children under 12 are not allowed to attend unless the class specifies. 6. A 10% discount will be given when purchasing the required supplies and materials for class as long as you have registered for the class. We ask that you purchase the materials for the class at Olde Towne Stitchery in order to keep the classes available and the class fees to a minimum. 7. A supply list will be given at the time of registration for the class. 8. Students are required to bring a sewing machine to class unless specified. There are two machines available for rent on a first-come, first-serve basis and should be rented at the time of registration. 9. Basic sewing supplies are needed for class and consist of: Scissors, thread, rotary cutter, ruler, seam ripper, marking pencil, etc. 10. Each student must have a LEGAL copy of the pattern or book if there is one for the class. 11. If help is needed in the selection of class materials, please do so prior to class starting. 12. Class will start on time. Please have your materials and supplies and arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class starting and be set up and ready to begin.
